PRP Skin Rejuvenation for Men Sydney

Rejuvenate your skin and hair with a PRP treatment at The Bay Medispa

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Treatments

To help men rejuvenate tired-looking skin, improve the appearance of facial or body scars, and fight hair loss, we offer RegenLab – recognised as the leading patented technology for Autologous Platelet Rich Plasma (A-PRP). This treatment processes your own blood, concentrating the powerful growth factors of your own platelets to regenerate and rejuvenate the skin and stem cells. A high concentration of your blood platelets stimulates stem cells, increases production of collagen, nutrients and antioxidants. Treatment can also see an improvement in the appearance of your skin, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and plump up areas that have lost volume over time.

PRP is a great option for men who are looking to achieve the following cosmetic goals.

  • Rejuvenate skin in the face, eyes and neck
  • Reduce scarring in the face or body
  • Combat hair loss

PRP for Skin Rejuvenation

What Can PRP Treat?

PRP is an effective choice in treatment for several areas of your face and body, including the following:

  • Face: fine lines, dark circles under the eyes, acne scarring, skin texture, skin tone and neck hydration
  • Neck: wrinkling and sagging
  • Body: scarring from injury or burns, along with stretch marks

Are Treatment Results Immediate?

No. After the treatment, you will first experience some swelling. Once the swelling has subsided, typically in 24-48 hours, you will not see much difference right away. Over the course of a few weeks, the platelets will stimulate the growth factors which will lead to the healing collagen growth. Men can typically see the best visible between three and six weeks, with continual improvement seen over the next 6 months.

Results will also depend on your overall health. Smoking, alcohol consumption and a poor diet can have an impact on your results. Stop smoking, limit alcohol and ensure you are eating healthy and staying hydrated.

How Many Treatments Will Be Needed?

The health and the age of your skin will determine the number of treatments that you will need. It is typically advisable to have 3 to 4 treatments, spaced 4 to 8 weeks apart. You can, of course, explore additional treatments in order to maintain your fresh and refreshed look.

How It Works

Blood will be drawn by one of our cosmetic nurses or physicians. The number of tubes/vials collected will depend on the size of the treatment area. Typically, you need just one or two small tubes/vials. The blood is spun to isolate and concentrate the body’s natural and powerful regenerating growth factors.

Most men can tolerate the injections very well without numbing creams. Your comfort is always our priority therefore we will apply a topical pain-relieving solution for facial PRP and for hair PRP we will inject a local anaesthetic to ring block the area being treated.

The PRP injection triggers the body’s own healing mechanism.

The cells in the targeted area are revitalised and rejuvenated. This serves the goal of improving skin, filling lines and wrinkles, and aiding in scar healing, with visible results in as little as 3 weeks. PRP can even promote hair growth in men with thinning hair or alopecia with results in 2 months.

PRP Treatment Sydney FAQ

What can be expected after treatment?

Expect to see a youthful boost. The treatment will tighten your skin and leave a fresh glow on your skin. The fine lines and wrinkles on your face will be less noticeable. Dark circles under your eyes will look less severe. Scars, whether from injury or acne, will fade and skin texture will be improved.

Is this therapy better for men or women?

This treatment is equally effective for both men and women. Anyone who can benefit from a refreshed look can benefit from PRP therapy.

What should I do to prepare before treatment?

PRP therapy is non-invasive and non-surgical. There are, however, still some steps that you need to take in order to ensure that you get the best in results from the treatment. Firstly making sure you are well hydrated on the day of treatment. Provide us with a complete list of any medications that you take, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medications and herbal supplements. You should avoid taking anti-inflammatory medications and steroids for several weeks prior to and after the procedure.

Is PRP treatment painful?

All men have their own threshold for pain tolerance. A topical anaesthesia can be applied if you are concerned about pain. PRP typically uses very small needles.

Will my body reject the PRP injections?

There is almost no chance of rejection of the platelet-rich plasma. Your body is not likely to reject its own blood.

Am I a good candidate for PRP treatment?

The ideal candidate for PRP treatment is any adult looking for a natural, non-medicinal and non-surgical approach to healing. You should be in good general health.

Who is not a good candidate for PRP treatment?

There are some medical conditions that may exclude you from qualifying as a good candidate for this treatment. Anaemia, low platelet counts, an infection or active cancer may not be suitable for this procedure. Those who are taking blood thinning medications should speak with their prescribing doctor for further guidance.

Are there any side-effects of PRP treatment?

PRP therapy is a safe and natural treatment. Treatment concentrates the healing factors in your own blood. The blood is injected directly into the area that is being targeted for healing. This ensures that there are no risks for rejection from your immune system. There are also no risks of infection or allergy. There may be some mild redness, bruising and swelling after treatment. Mild headaches are also a possibility, but they typically respond well to over-the-counter pain relievers.

How long does PRP treatment take?

PRP therapy is considered to be a lunch-time procedure. It takes around a 45 to 60 minutes to be completed. You can typically return to work right after your hair PPR treatment has concluded however some facial PRP treatments may require you to head home if swelling takes place.

Are there any precautions to take after treatment?

Minimal downtime is needed after this non-invasive treatment. It is advisable to avoid spending time in the direct sun or high intensity work outs for at least 24 hours after your treatment. You will also be advised to avoid touching or washing your face for 6 hours after having the procedure. After 6 hours, you can use a mild soap and warm water.
